4/28/219 私の英語のレッスンは解説はすべて日本語で行い、生徒さんが英語を読む時も、直訳でも良いので日本語訳をつける練習をしてもらいます。 生徒さんには多読を勧めていますが、特に幼い生徒さんの場合日本語の説明がないと、英語が「読め」ても内容ははっきりと理解していないことが多いです。輸入教材を使う場合、英語を読んですぐ理解できるよう、私が直訳に近い日本語訳をつけて使用しています。 最近は透明なラベルシートに私が訳した文章を印刷し、本に直接はりつけています。(写真上: 買ってきた状態、下: 訳をつけた状態)このCliffordの本はもう少しで完成し、間もなく生徒さんにも貸し出せます。楽しみにしていてくださいね。 I use Japanese as much as necessary when providing English lessons for students' best interest - clear understanding. I also try to have my students give Japanese translation when they read English at class.
It is often the case that students, especially young ones, do not fully understand the context even though they can read English fluently. Knowing exactly what an English sentence means in Japanese helps students learn the language more quickly.
Like the Clifford book shown here, I print the translation on a transparent sheet and paste it right below the sentence. It is available for the students to borrow now!
